My Dad’s Yarns: No. 1
It was said that my Dad could talk the hind leg off a donkey.
We in the family, and his old friends, certainly miss his yarns; fortunately he made some tapes for his grandchildren, so we can still listen to some of them.
Here is the first, about one of his early jobs - he had quite a few before he joined the Metropolitan Police and became a copper.
And his next job, where his experience (as a teenager) came in very handy:
Finally, he had a taste of show business; at another era he could have finished up in Hollywood!
